She likes green

‘Whats your favourite colour?’ I asked her one day on a whim.
Ive known her for over a decade, but was never sure about the answer to this question. She seemed to like a lot of colours, or at least she wore lots of colours. Yellow, pink, green... All bright, vibrant colours, as opposed to my usual black and grey.
‘Green.’ There wasn’t any hesitation in her voice. For no apparent reason whatsoever, but definitely not because ‘green is the colour of nature’, she emphasised while rolling her eyes. Thats just cliche. I pressed on for a reason, and we settled on green being a lively colour.
And she definitely is a lively person. Back when we were too broke to afford to go anywhere, we could spend the whole afternoon just loitering around the hills behind school and exploring the neighbourhood. Even now she keeps a list of endless new restaurants and places for us to go to.
So when i got into film photography, naturally I’ve tried to rope her into it as well. She never questions my artistic(?) visions and always goes along with my requests for unconventional compositions and weird poses. The results rarely end up as I’d pictured, but at least we got some interesting photos and memories out of it.
I got her a disposable film camera one Christmas. She seemed to have fun with it, and ended up buying another. And with that came the desire to get a proper point and shoot. I was there when she picked her first camera. There were a myriad of options, of various models and colours. “So which one caught your eye?” I asked.
Without missing a beat, she answered, “The green one of course.”
